You’ve heard it, haven’t you?
“You’re too intense.”
“Too sensitive.”
“Too loud. Too passionate. Too emotional.”
So you shrank.
Softened your truth.
Filtered your feelings.
Apologized for taking up space.
But let’s name this lie for what it is.
“Too much” is often what people say when they’ve lost touch with their own depth.
Your tears threatened their numbness.
Your joy startled their resignation.
Your honesty poked at what they were trying to ignore.
You were never too much.
You were just more than they knew how to hold.
And while that may have hurt, it doesn’t mean you need to be smaller.
You weren’t made to be manageable.
You were made to be real.
Ask yourself:
Where did I start learning to apologize for who I am?
Who taught me that my presence needed editing?
What would happen if I stopped asking for permission to be full?
There is nothing wrong with your light, your truth, your tone, your tenderness.
You are not too much.
You are just right-sized for your life, your people, your purpose.
