You Are Not a Role—You Are a Soul
You’ve been celebrated for your selflessness.
For how much you give.
How often you show up.
How much you hold.
You’ve probably heard it your whole life:
“You’re so helpful.”
“You’re always there for everyone.”
“I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
And it feels good—until it doesn’t.
Until the giving becomes the only way you feel seen.
And somewhere underneath the smiles, a question lingers:
If I stop doing… will I still be loved?
Here’s the truth:
You are not what you offer.
You are not only as good as what you do.
People may love your care—
But the ones who truly matter?
They’ll love you when you rest.
When you say no.
When you just are.
Because you are not a role.
You are a soul.
Ask yourself:
Have I confused being useful with being worthy?
What part of me fears becoming invisible if I stop doing?
Can I let myself be loved even when I’m the one in need?
You are not a function.
You are a person—and that’s enough.
