50 Lies

You Deserve to Be Heard

August 29, 20251 min read

 You’ve swallowed your words.
Nodded politely.
Said “I’m fine” when you were anything but.

Because somewhere along the way, a part of you decided:
My truth isn’t safe.

Maybe you spoke up once and it backfired.
Maybe honesty brought punishment instead of connection.
Or maybe no one ever asked what you really felt—so you stopped asking yourself.

But here’s what you need to know:
Your truth matters.

Not because it’s perfect.
Not because it’s agreeable.
But because it’s
yours.

And honesty? It’s not what pushes people away.
It’s what draws the
right ones near.

Yes, you might lose those who preferred your silence.
But you’ll gain something sacred—relationships that can hold your truth.

Ask yourself:

  • When did I first learn that my voice was unsafe?

  • What do I avoid saying to keep others comfortable?

  • What would change if I trusted my truth was worth hearing?

You don’t need to hide.
Your truth belongs in the room.
And the right people? They’ll stay.
