50 Lies

You Don’t Have to Hustle for Love

September 19, 20251 min read

You’ve learned to work for love.
To be helpful. Pleasant. Impressive.

To read the room and shape-shift your way into staying wanted.
Because somewhere along the line, you believed:
Love is earned—never given.

Maybe the love you received came with strings.
Maybe approval was offered when you performed, and withdrawn when you didn’t.
Maybe you were taught that being loved meant being useful.

So now, when someone offers care freely, you hesitate.
You question it.
You brace for the catch.

But here’s the truth:

Love that must be earned isn’t love. It’s approval.

Love—the kind that heals—is a gift.
Not a paycheck.
Not a prize.

It’s given freely, simply because you are you.
And you are already worthy.

Ask yourself:

  • What kind of love did I grow up with—earned or given?

  • How does that shape the way I relate to others now?

  • What would it feel like to receive love without earning it?

You are not a transaction.
You are a soul.
And you don’t have to hustle for what you deserve simply by existing.
